SAERTEX® IN SAERBECK IS CERTIFIED ACCORDING TO DIN EN ISO 14001
SAERTEX is now certified according to the environmental management standard DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 at its Saerbeck site. The certification covers both parts of the company: SAERTEX GmbH & Co KG with its lightweight materials and the subsidiary SAERTEX multiCom GmbH, which manufactures GRP pipe liners for trenchless pipe rehabilitation. With the certification according to DIN EN ISO 14001, the SAERTEX GROUP has now successfully implemented its years of optimization in terms of sustainability in an internationally recognized management system standard.
"Our multiaxial fabrics made of glass and carbon fibers are the material for the energy turnaround in wind power and our trenchless technology for the rehabilitation of dilapidated pipes protects the environment. Sustainability is therefore an integral part of our company," says Christoph Geyer, CEO of SAERTEX GROUP. "With the ISO 14001 certification, the sustainable processes that we have implemented and continuously optimized for many years become transparent and comprehensible for our customers worldwide."
The DIN EN ISO 14001 standard has been a globally recognized basis for environmental management systems since 1996 and covers all aspects for the continuous improvement of environmental performance. The core idea of DIN EN ISO 14001 is the promotion of environmental protection, the reduction of negative environmental impacts and thus the correct implementation of operational environmental goals.
At the end of 2021, the first preparations for the introduction of the environmental management system at SAERTEX have begun. After extensive analyses, the preparation of CO
2 balances, the training of employees and the optimization of existing processes as well as the introduction of new, sustainable processes, SAERTEX has achieved the goals for the introduction of ISO 14001.
"From the very beginning, the focus was on combining sustainable optimization with consistent quality of our products," adds Kai Diecks, Global Managing Director at SAERTEX multiCom. "In this context, ISO 14001 certification is another important building block in our overall transformation process to be able to act as a sustainable business partner for our customers."
Since 2009, the company has been certified by the Ökoprofit Kreis Steinfurt program at its Saerbeck site and has been able to achieve significant savings in CO
2 emissions, energy consumption and waste volumes. Now that the main site in Saerbeck and SAERTEX India are certified, SAERTEX is working stringently on the worldwide implementation of ISO 14001 at the other global sites.
