SAERfoam for Wind
While the demand for renewable energy is rising, the scarcity of balsa core materials threatens progress.
Therefore, our goal is to replace these conventional materials with engineered foams like our SAERfoam for Wind.
As part of the research project OptiFoam, we are investigating the potential of fiber-reinforced foams as an alternative to the use of balsa wood and polymeric foams in rotor blades.
In collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES) and other industry partners, we are therefore constantly developing SAERfoam and adapting it to the specific requirements.
