SUCCESSFUL TRADE SHOW ATTENDANCE AT JEC WORLD 2017: HIGH DEMAND FOR SAERTEX CARBON MATERIALS
Saerbeck, April 06, 2017 – SAERTEX® draws positive results from the company's attendance at JEC World, the leading international trade fair for composites, which took place in Paris from March 14 to 16, 2017. The exhibited lightweight carbon construction solutions were, in particular, received with keen interest by visitors from all over the world.
SAERTEX focused for the first time on its competence in carbon-fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) at its 128 m² booth. The new campaign, "THINK CARBON – MAKE IT WITH SAERTEX", met with a decidedly positive response on the part of the numerous visitors to the booth.
This year SAERTEX enthralled its visitors with innovative products and examples of their use, such as the Candela hydrofoil speed boat, the new Lamborghini Huracán, or rotor blades made with CFRP elements for the wind power sector. Compared to steel, carbon is 80 percent lighter and exhibits excellent mechanical properties. CFRP plays a key role in lightweight construction – carbon, the material of the future. Here, SAERTEX has achieved major technological progress over the past few years to make the material more efficient and facilitate the use of carbon non-crimp fabrics in a wide variety of applications. Large numbers of visitors came to the SAERTEX booth and attended the live presentations at the SPEAKERS' CORNER to obtain information on new innovations and receive advice from the material engineers at the Saerbeck-based global market leader.
The show was not only a resounding success for SAERTEX: The show’s organizers, the JEC Group, reported an increase of up to 10% in the number of visitors this year. Lightweight construction materials are the present trend, in particular in transportation, the construction industry, and in the marine sector.
JEC Award 2017: SAERTEX® and Brødrene Aa win the JEC Innovation Award for the "Vision of the Fjords" projectOne of the show highlights was the conferment of the coveted JEC Innovation Award on SAERTEX. Together with Norwegian shipbuilder Brødrene Aa and two other partner companies, the family-owned company from the Münsterland region of Germany was honored for its contribution to the "Vision of the Fjords" tourist ferry, which was made almost completely from SAERTEX carbon.
"We are very proud and delighted to receive this award. For our company, it is both a confirmation and an incentive to pioneer innovative development together with our customers and to preserve the resources of our world. In this context, carbon is the material of the future. It will prevail in all applications in the transport sector," says Christoph Geyer, member of the Executive Board and Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of SAERTEX.
Every year, JEC World in Paris provides SAERTEX with a springboard for presenting new and innovative products and exchanging views with customers, partners, and visitors. "This year’s JEC World was a complete success for SAERTEX: More visitors, more inquiries, and above all, more contacts in new fields of application for our lightweight construction materials – and, in particular, our carbon non-crimp fabric, of course. We are very optimistic about the future," says Daniel Stumpp, Head of Global Marketing at the SAERTEX Group.
